Free association is described as a "psychonanalytic procedure in which a person is encouraged to give free rein to his or her thoughts and feelings, verbalizing whatever comes into the mind without monitoring its content." Over time, this technique is supposed to help bring forth repressed thoughts and feelings that the person can then work through to gain a better sense of self.

That's an admirable goal, but for the purposes of this excercise, we're just hoping to have a little fun with the technique. Each week I'll post ten words to which you can respond to with the first thing that comes to mind.

"Rules are, there are no rules." There are no right or wrong answers. Don't limit yourself to one word responses; just say everything that pops into your head. AND you don't have to have your words up on Sunday. Take all week if you want!

    3. Fireworks: Love them or avoid them?

    4. Since it’s Independence Day here in the USA, I’m wondering just how independent are you? On a scale of 1 to 10 where would you put yourself? 1 being extremely dependent on others, and 10 being highly independent?
    ~ I would say 10, highly independent.

Thank you One Friend for posting it and sharing it to us.

    Checking it twice

I have a friend who loves to travel. They go camping and a lot of road trips especially now that it's summer time. Recently, they went for a long drive to another province with some friends.

Just this week, she finds out that her insurance coverage has expired and she didn't get any letter or new auto insurance quotes from the insurance company reminding her of the expiration of her insurance.

It's a good thing nothing happened to them or to the car during that last road trip, or else they will be in big trouble since the insurance expired shortly before that trip.

He's just not that into you

Have you seen this movie? I loved it!

"Are you the exception? Or are you the rule?"

I think this movie is very appropriate for teenage girls who are exploring the possibility of dating and getting into a relationship. It is very honest and open.

I was told that the book is much, much better. So if you need to buy a gift for your teenage daughter or cousin or friend, you might want to buy her the book. I am definitely keeping one copy for my daughter.

    World's Scariest Runways

My family and I love to travel... we'd rather have the basics around the house and save up for a family trip. But I would definitely think twice about flying to these cities.

    Here's 5 of the 10 World's Scariest Runways...

    Paro Airport, Bhutan

Why It’s Harrowing: Tucked into a tightly cropped valley and surrounded by 16,000-foot-high serrated Himalayan peaks, this is arguably the world’s most forbidding airport to fly into. It requires specially trained pilots to maneuver into this stomach-dropping aerie by employing visual flying rules and then approaching and landing through a narrow channel of vertiginous tree-covered hillsides.

Princess Juliana International Airport, St. Maarten

Why It’s Harrowing: The length of the runway—just 7,152 feet—is perfectly fine for small or medium-size jets, but as the second-busiest airport in the Eastern Caribbean, it regularly welcomes so-called heavies—long-haul wide-body jetliners like Boeing 747’s and Airbus A340’s—from Europe, which fly in improbably low over Maho Beach and skim just over the perimeter fence.

    Matekane Air Strip, Lesotho

Why It’s Harrowing: Because of the diminutive 1,312-foot-long runway perched at the edge of a couloir at 7,550 feet, becoming airborne at the end of the tarmac is virtually impossible. Instead, you drop down the face of a 2,000-foot cliff until you start flying. Says bush pilot Tom Claytor, "The rule in the mountains is that it is better to take off downwind and downhill than into wind and uphill, because in Lesotho, the hills will usually out-climb you. It's a little bit hard to do the first time."

    Madeira Airport, Funchal

Why It’s Harrowing: Wedged in by mountains and the Atlantic, Madeira Airport requires a clockwise approach for which pilots are specially trained. Despite a unique elevated extension that was completed back in 2000 and now expands the runway length to what should be a comfortable 9,000 feet, the approach to Runway 05 remains a hair-raising affair that pilots absolutely dread. They must first point their aircraft at the mountains and, at the last minute, bank right to align with the fast-approaching runway.

Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport, Saba, Netherlands Antilles

Why It’s Harrowing: Perched on a precipitous gale-battered peninsula on the island’s northeastern corner, the airport requires pilots to tackle blustery trade winds, occasional spindrift, and their own uneasy constitutions as they maneuver in for a perfect landing (there’s no margin for error) on a runway that’s just 1,300 feet long. "Shorting this means ending up in the cliffs," says one pilot matter-of-factly, "while overshooting it means an uncomfortable go-around. Either way, you’ll want to bring the Dramamine."

    Gift card printers

As a business owner, it is always a good thing to keep up with what’s new and how to be competitive enough so that the business will not go bankrupt. Take for example if you have a restaurant business, you need to come up with promotion to attract people. Like discounts or free appetizers or entrĂ©e or gift cards.

And with promotions comes corresponding expenses. The best way is to invest in products that will help your business saves in the long run. So in case of gift cards, one might want to invest in a good Gift Card Printer so you can just print cards anytime you need to.

    Finally

    a new layout! Yey!

I finally found a way to change my template. What do you think?

    Dream watch: Rolex

I only have a handful of watches. I have one of the classic Omega watch. It was from my mother and I have kept it. I rarely use it though. I don’t want to lose it or break it. I also have a Bucherer gold watch. Other than that, I have 2 Mickey Mouse timeless watches and a Guess watch that I use on the daily basis.

On the other hand, my husband doesn’t own a single watch. He just didn’t like to wear a watch.

One of my best friends from high school is a collector of watches. She just has to have the coolest watches available. If Imelda Marcos collects shoes, she has tons of watches. I always say that she could open up her own watch store and sell her pieces for profit.

I guess her priority shifted for awhile and she stopped buying watches. She said that she’s saving her money for a Rolex watch. It’s her lifetime dream. I guess she will be ready soon because she has been looking at www.bestoftime.com. This site sells pre-owned, almost brand new genuine Rolex watches for a really good deal. They have layaway offers to help you with the payments and money back guarantee.

    Hate my work schedule

My work entails working on shifts. I am on the early morning shift and it is sometimes hard to wake up at 3am especially on winter season. And I hate the fact that I have to work on weekends. The only good thing about that shift is that I get to go home early enough to still enjoy the rest of the day especially on weekends. I just wish that I could get weekends off.

Pros and cons. I think my work sched has more pros than cons. And the schedule works for my family even though I don't really enjoy the early morning shift. And I get to spend more time with the kids and help them with their school work.

Oh well, we can't have it all! I am just thankful that I have a job. A job to pay for my bills.

    Too much keyboarding?

Ever since I started blogging, I have been spending so much time on the computer. My right hand suddenly feel sore for no reason at all. I have a hard time moving it, I can't even wash the dishes without feeling the pain.

Hubby said I might have the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or CTS from too much keyboarding. Do I?

    Morey's Pier

I've been the New Jersey 3 times already and the last time we were there was the best ever. We usually go to Jersey to visit relatives and hardly had the chance to really see and explore the city.

Well, the last time we were there, 3 years ago, we decided to seek the help of a travel agency and we were advice to get their Jersey Shore beach Vacation package. Included in that package was a day at the famous New Jersey water parks and walk along the Jersey Shore.

My kids truly enjoyed the water parks and playing at the beach front. Morey's Pier rocks!

    On Upgrades

When we bought our house 3 years ago, other than choosing the location of our house, the next hardest decision that we had to make was the upgrades. I wanted our house to look nice and I wanted to incorporate everything that I wanted into that house.

The biggest upgrade we spent was in the kitchen. I upgraded to granite counter and premier lighting fixtures. The other upgrade that I spent on was an additional full bath in the master's bedroom.

I'm happy with the choices that I made and I believe these upgrades will be valuable if and when we decide to sell the house.

    The must-see, must-visit places!

What’s on your travel itinerary in the new year? From a new luxury hotel in Laos (where you can take in the view of ancient temples from a chaise lounge by the infinity pool) to the waterfront night clubs of Hvar (the St. Tropez of Croatia) to Death Valley (where recent heavy rains have some flower bloggers speculating on a dazzling spring bloom next year), the travel choices for global nomads have never been more varied.

Here's the list of 53 places to go in 2008! - Compiled by Denny Lee
So many places to see... but from this list, I've only seen 5 places! I need to start saving up so I can see more of the world.
